Brown or Black Shoes for Business

Black or Brown dress shoes?

This is honestly a good one to ask because there will always be exceptions!

When first starting out with a pair of dress shoes, I highly recommend that you should have your first pair of dress shoes in black. Black is the most versatile color that will match many types of business clothing you wear. On top of that,  the color black for shoes can be used for almost any kind of occasion.

So how about the Color Brown?

Brown adds a bit of class but is a bit tricky. I actually prefer a dark brown or a burgundy wine color shoe because black is just too simple of a color. Black is not doubt the color for the masses but brown on the other hand adds a bit of sophistication! Brown shoes look richer and can be use for combinations that involve grey, navy, and brown suits. They also look cool with with jeans for those casual events.

Remember to always get real leather. Do not not get PU (polyurethane) leather aka fake leather because they are obvious. Also, make sure the soles are stitched to the shoe. Shoes that don’t have this stitch means that there are glued and that this is a sign of low quality.
