Single or double suit vents?

Single or double suit vents come and go with the fashion business trend. But if you are going to choose between a single or a double vent suit, I would suggest you choose based on functionality and versatility.

If you have never worn a suit or don’t know how it feels to have either a single or a double-vented suit, I would recommend a double vented suit.  The reason to this is you just can’t go wrong with double suit vents.

Why Double Suit Vents?

Having two suit vents are very versatile and function conveniently toward many situations involved in wearing a suit. One one them is have to reach for a side pocket. The other is that it makes it easier for a person to sit without getting rumples on back side of the suit.

Double Vents

For aesthetic reasons, when compared to a single vent; the design of a double vent allows the suit to form more closely to the body because the slits are located on both rear-lateral sides of the body. This gives it the advantage and flexibility to neatly shape out the form of your body, making a wearer look he is wearing the suit instead of the suit wearing him.

In contrast to the single vent, the single vents provides ease and comfort when sitting and moving around. However, it is not that versatile compared to a double vent because the single vent does make it a bit irritating when reaching for a side pant pocket. Finally, rumples are more prone to occurring on single vented suits even though it’s main purpose for being there is to let the jacket fall naturally.

Single suit vents have that classy American touch while the double vents has that sophisticated British/ European taste.

Suits that have no vents is a trademark of a traditional Italian suit.  However, having suits with no vents are best reserved for tuxedos and for white and black-tie formal  events.
